Veteran soul and funk Dj Al B is still very much active in his home city of Bristol’s pub and club circuit and says he has no plans to quit yet. It all started when he walked in to a bar during the late 70’s and heard Movin’ by Brass Construction and immediately fell in love with the funk. He started DJ’ing in 1979 and had his first residency at a Bristol nightclub called The Turntable.

In 2002 Al was invited to join the DJ line up at the popular “Soul Train” club night in Bristol and has been part of it ever since. This soul institution is now in its 30th year and was once voted top club night outside of London. He also co-promotes the regular “Soul City” club night and the annual Bristol Soul Boat Cruise.

Highlights include working alongside the legendary Roy Ayers, djing in Ibiza, Marbella and Tenerife, appearing at the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show and at Funky Nation upstairs at the world famous Ronnie Scotts,

Has been a radio presenter for over 15 years broadcasting on various soul stations across FM, DAB and Internet radio platforms.
